Chanting is a wonderful prelude to meditation/prayer.
Wednesday from 7:00 to 7:30 P.M.
Instructions and assistance are available to those who wish to begin or deepen their practice. Meditation provides physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. It reduces stress, brings you awareness of the peace within, and ultimately enables you to become master of your own mind.
All approaches to meditation/prayer include techniques designed to help practitioners maintain a relaxed, focused, uninterrupted awareness. Whether it is Buddhist Vipassana, Walking, Serenity Meditation, Christian Centering Prayer, Hindu Mantra, Sound/Light, Kriya Pranayama, or other mystical practice, all eventually lead you to the point where techniques are no longer necessary or useful. You learn to naturally, easily move into superconscious states, and to maintain those states throughout the day.
Initiation into Kriya Pranayama or the Serenity Meditation is available upon request

Based on a 5,000-year-old philosophy, Integral Yoga® teaches spiritual practices that encourage higher levels of awareness. These include asanas (sustained poses), yoga nidra (deep relaxation), pranayama (breath control), and dhyana (meditation/prayer).
During a typical two hour class, students spend approximately fifty-five minutes doing asanas, twenty-five minutes in yoga nidra, twenty minutes doing pranayama, and twenty minutes in dhyana.
Yoga is not a religion and can be practiced by people of any denomination or religious belief. Yoga is the science of living peacefully and joyfully always and is useful for gentle fitness and stress management. You will benefit regardless of your physical condition. Asanas are taught for three levels of physical ability: in a chair, using a chair for support, and independent of a chair.
It was during the tenth year of my meditation/prayer practice that I attended my first Integral Yoga® class, and was pleasantly surprised to find my meditation/prayer practice immediately deepen. These experiences taught me the spiritual value of yoga, and led me to teaching yoga to others.

LEARNING RELAXATION / STRESS MANAGEMENT SKILLS
Second Saturday of Every Month
10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
Stress is everywhere and often triggers health problems. Yet becoming anxious or depressed only makes things worse. But, while you cannot change the fact that stress is everywhere, you can learn to respond skillfully to life's challenges and maintain your equilibrium.
During this three hour workshop, you will learn about stress and its impact, the stress cycle, and the relaxation response. Stress management techniques will be outlined. The physiological, psychological, and spiritual benefits of regularly eliciting the relaxation response will be highlighted.
Training is designed to empower you to include stress management and relaxation skills as part of your life and work. Several techniques used to elicit the relaxation response will be taught, including breathing techniques, muscle relaxation, meditation/prayer, and mindfulness.
You will be offered the opportunity to use thermal and/or electrodermal biofeedback instruments during training. These biofeedback instruments increase awareness of internal changes and thereby enhance development of relaxation skills.
For over forty years I have successfully taught relaxation techniques to hundreds of individuals of all ages and have conducted numerous workshops in a variety of settings. Experience teaches me that, from the myriad of relaxation techniques available, everyone can learn to relax.
